The “bridge group”. Sapa, Vietnam [4 Sept 2010] Coming off the crazy bamboo bridge in Ta Van. Katie D is in the front, our new friend and fellow-tour-taker was in the middle and Chu was in the back. The other girl we took the tour with was Vietnamese but with lighter skin and very western features and clothes. She had spent the last 10 years living in Paris and was now moving back to Hanoi to marry a Vietnamese boy. Because she looked to western, locals were surprised when she spoke flawless Vietnames.
